My name is Nathan Harling and I love games! When I first picked up the joystick on my neighbor’s Atari 2600, I was hooked on games as entertainment. Years later, playing NBA Jam with my friends in the room and a text-based MUD with friends far away taught me that games can be a platform for socializing. A few years ago, I realized that games are an incredible format for creation and expression. It didn’t take long to figure out that making games is what I want to do.
I have recently graduated from California State University, Chico with a B.S. in Applied Computer Graphics with minors in Communication Design and Japanese. I’ve had such a blast learning to make games and playing the games that others have made; I am always looking forward to new opportunities to apply what I know and further learn from my experiences.
I enjoy playing games of all types. Some of my old favorites are Super Mario Kart, Max Payne 2, Command and Conquer, and Cribbage. Newer favorites include Team Fortress 2, Portal, the Bioshock series, Mass Effect, Bayonetta, and Red Dead Redemption.
Some of my other hobbies include reading and Japanese study. I also try to stay fit enough to support my body through the long hours I spend in chairs doing what I love.
